Clas Ohlson en route to Dubai

Clas Ohlson, a Swedish retail group, is moving to the United Arab Emirates. The intention is to open the company’s first outlet outside Europe in Dubai before the summer of 2014. As already reported in September, the franchisee is SYH Retail. The company has signed an agreement with Majid Al Futtaim Properties on opening a branch of Clas Ohlson with a sales area of 1 326 m² in the Mirdif City Centre in Dubai. This is a retail centre that houses 430 shops and welcomes 20 mio visitors every year. Within the next five years Clas Ohlson hopes to open at least 20 outlets in the Gulf region.
