Messe Frankfurt is exporting the concept of Ambiente, the international consumer goods fair, to India. Ambiente India will be held for the first time from 19 – 21 June 2014, and in parallel to Heimtextil India. The venue will be in New Delhi, the capital of India. Like the parent event in Frankfurt it will be presenting new products and trends in three sections: Dining, Giving and Living. The linking of the two fairs means that visitors are will be offered an overview of the table top, kitchen and household ranges, as well as gifts and lifestyle items. A press release from the organisers mentions factors such as the growth of cities, increases in disposable income and the above-average development of the hotel and catering trade, as well as the property market, as providing the impetus for the markets in the areas of living, furnishing and decorating. By 2016 the market volume for products to do with interior design will have grown to US $ 48.5 bn, according to a study of BRIC data. Over and above this, it is expected that the growth in consumption in India will be accompanied by an increasing demand for products for the home.
