Kingfisher, the British DIY retailer, has announced that it succeeded in increasing sales in the third quarter of this current year by 1.4 per cent in constant currencies to ₤ 2.9 bn (€ 3.48 bn). Profits rose 1.7 per cent to ₤ 271 mio (€ 325.1 mio). Like-for-like sales in France grew by 1.9 per cent. The development in Britain (+2.0 per cent) was driven very powerfully by the success of the Screwfix small-format concept, according to Kingfisher. In addition to Britain and France, overall sales also expanded (+2,9 per cent) in the other countries where Kingfisher is actively involved.
