The best-known brands…

Philips, Bosch, and Black & Decker are the best-known brands in the European DIY marketplace. In addition AEG, Dulux, Ikea, Osram and Velux are among the best-known brand names in more than one country. These are some of the findings from the European Home Improvement Monitor’s spate of surveys from the third quarter. Consumers in ten countries of Europe were questioned about their favourite brands, whereby own brands outdid the popularity of manufacturers’ brands in certain countries. For example, Leroy Merlin and Castorama in France and Gamma in the Netherlands ended up among the top five, while Ikea achieved the same in several different countries at once.
