The German organisers Messe Essen report a positive result for the Flowers IPM Moscow from 28 – 30 August 2013. Although the number of some 360 exhibitors was nearly one-third down on the previous year, this time the companies booked bigger stands so that overall the same exhibition space was occupied as last year. The exhibitor structure also changed to becoming more geared towards trade visitors, as did the share of foreign companies, which increased from 25 to 34 per cent. Altogether there were 31 countries represented at the event, twice as many as in 2012. The number of visitors rose to 21 760, of whom some 15 450 were trade visitors. Messe Essen stages the Flowers IPM Moscow jointly with a Russian organiser, MVCVVC. The range of products was greater in comparison with previous years. For the first time, in addition to plants, nursery stock, floriculture, technology and equipment, the exhibitor portfolio included cut flowers. Here Messe Essen worked in cooperation with the Expo Flora Russia of HPP Exhibitions, organisers from the Netherlands, which boasted 40 exhibitors.
