First European marketplace for surplus inventory

The launch of a B2B auction platform for surplus goods and production overcapacity, which is claimed to be the first in Europe, is scheduled for November. In the starting-up phase the digital marketplace www.stockondeals.com will concentrate on food and DIY products. The operator is a Danish start-up company under the same name; it is being funded through EU resources and state investment capital as well. The background to this new business is excess production, which is hardly avoidable as a result of the increasingly short cycles of innovation and development.
