Bricorama, a French DIY retail group, completed the first six months with sales down by 7.7 per cent to € 372.3 mio. The deficit in the second quarter came to 4.2 per cent on a volume of € 190.4 mio, while the drop in the first quarter was -11.6 per cent. On the home market in France Bricorama’s sales in the second quarter were 3.5 per cent down on the same period last year. Sales in the Benelux countries experienced a drop of 5.3 per cent to € 59.2 mio; the figure for Belgium was a minus of 7.6 per cent, and for the Netherlands -1.0 per cent. The company’s sales in the Spanish market were 8.76 per cent down. Bricorama has restructured the responsibilities in its corporate management, thereby creating three executive divisions. Christian Roubaud is extending his sphere of responsibility as head of administration and finance and will in future direct group activities abroad. Operational business in France is now in the hands of Antoine Machu, while Jean-Michel Bourrelier is in charge of activities in Spain.
