Sales shortfall for Mr. Bricolage

The French group’s sales in the first six months of 2013 are 3.5 per cent down

In the first six months of 2013 Mr. Bricolage, a French DIY group, recorded sales amounting to € 1 090, which is 3.5 per cent down on the same period last year; the like-for-like result was -3.4 per cent. With sales of € 990.1 mio in France the shortfall was somewhat higher at -4.1 per cent, as was the like-for-like result of -3.6 per cent. Taken on its own, the Les Briconautes sales channel (78 outlets) that was included in these calculations actually recorded a decline of 10.5 per cent. By contrast, outside France Mr. Bricolage was able to grow its sales by 2.5 per cent to € 99.9 mio. However, here again there was a slight minus of 0.9 per cent like-for-like. The final result for the first six months, with the inclusion of the group’s online sales to the tune of € 11.3 mio, comes to a total of € 1 101.3 mio.
