Homebase, the British DIY chain, increased its takings in the second quarter (to 31 August 2013) by 9.3 per cent on the same period last year. After three closures the like-for-like increase turned out even higher at 11.0 per cent. The store network now comes to 333 outlets. The chain, which is part of the Home Retail Group, concluded the first half-year with sales growth of 4.4 per cent for a total of ₤ 822 mio; that was 5.9 per cent up on the same period last year.
