Kingfisher goes to Germany

Kingfisher intends to expand its Screwfix sales format into Germany. That is where the British DIY group plans to open four outlets in the summer of 2014, according to its latest quarterly report. The small-format Screwfix channel is a significant player in the UK home market, mainly because of its online shop. The group has so far only been indirectly represented in the German marketplace as a result of a 21 per cent stake in Hornbach.
