EDRA expects Europe to experience a DIY store sales shortfall to the tune of five per cent in the first half of 2013

EDRA, the European DIY Retail Association, estimates that the sales of European DIY retailers have seen more positive development in the second quarter of the current year than in the first. The association is reckoning with a sales shortfall of around 10 per cent from January to March. This development has not persisted, however, so that the industry’s sales shortfall in Europe for the first six months of this year should amount to no more than five per cent compared with the same period last year. The association expects that it will no longer be possible to completely make up the sales shortfalls during what remains of the year.
