Premiere in June 2014. Indian consumers spending more on home décor

German organisers Messe Frankfurt are exporting their Heimtextil trade fair to India. The first Heimtextil India will be held in New Delhi from 19 to 21 June 2014. “Heimtextil India is a long-overdue trade event that will put this country on the global map,” is the comment made by Raj Manek, managing director of Messe Frankfurt Trade Fairs India, on this step. According to information from the fair organisers, the Indian market for home textiles is one of the biggest in the world and makes a substantial contribution to the country’s economy. Household income and housing sales are steadily increasing. Thanks to increasing purchasing power capacity in general, more is being spent on interiors and furnishings throughout all levels of society. Heimtextil India is divided into nine product categories: the bedroom, bath linen, table linen, kitchen linen, window decoration, furnishing fabrics and textile floor coverings, plus two special areas: Walls of the World and Design & Technology. China, the United Arab Emirates and many other countries and regions are planning the presentation of their products and services in country pavilions.
