Homebase just holds onto sales level

With quarterly sales of ₤ 422 mio the British DIY chain remains at last year’s level

Homebase, the British DIY chain, completed the first quarter (3 March to 1 June 2013) with sales to the tune of ₤ 422 mio and a minimal increase of 0.2 per cent. The 366 stores of the DIY retailer, which is part of the Home Retail Group, increased sales in like-for-like terms by 1.4 per cent. Gains were evident above all in high-value transactions. By contrast, sales of seasonal items, which make up around 40 per cent of the total during this period, went down.
