The French Bricostore Group is now closing down its three stores in Croatia as well. This marks the end of the group’s involvement in the DIY retail business. The stores in Hungary closed at the end of 2012 and its activities in Romania were sold to Kingfisher in April. So the Bricostore brand name will be extinguished in Croatia, according to a press release, though negotiations are still in progress. Bricostore had been in Croatia since 2003. Its most recent store opening there was in the capital Zagreb early in the summer of 2012. Apparently the stores were loss-making right from the start.
