Lowe’s, the giant DIY and home improvement retailer ranking second in the United States and worldwide, increased its online sales last year by more than 50 per cent. Internet Retailer, a trade magazine, estimates the revenue from its web shop at US $ 757.5 mio. In 2011 the company was listed 47th in a ranking of the 500 biggest online retailers produced by the magazine. That was five places behind market leader Home Depot, which had at that time sold several hundred millions more than Lowe’s through the internet. Available now to both private shoppers and professionals at www.lowes.com is a range of some 600 000 items. In Canada, too, the company is actively involved in e-commerce, this time at www.lowes.ca.
