German DIY company Hornbach increased net sales in its DIY business during the 2012/2013 financial year (to 28 February 2013) by 0.6 per cent to € 3.020 bn. This means Hornbach moves up one place to third position on the list established by Dähne Verlag ranking the German DIY retailers by sales results. This growth is chiefly attributable to the home branches, which recorded sales of € 1.741 bn, or up by 0.7 per cent. In like-for-like terms they remained on exactly the same level as the previous year (0.0 per cent). The company’s market share consequently rose from 9.2 to 9.3 per cent. Even though sales abroad increased by 0.6 per cent to € 1.279 bn, they fell like-for-like and in constant-currency by 3.2 per cent. The overall result, therefore, was a like-for-like minus of 1.4 per cent. The foreign share of sales remained unchanged at 42.4 per cent.
