There is still no sign of DIY market saturation in Moscow. At any rate, a current survey of the Info-Line information agency, carried out with partners, has revealed that the Russian capital was less well supplied with large-format stores at the beginning of 2013 than other big cities in Russia. Indeed, there are only 1.63 big DIY stores for every one million inhabitants of Moscow (compared with 4.1 hypermarkets/FMCG stores). This amounts to about 30 m² of floorspace in large-format DIY stores per 1 000 inhabitants. By contrast, the survey shows that shopping centres have reached a high degree of saturation in the capital, where the figure comes to 850 m² per 1000 inhabitants.
