Sylvain Prud’homme succeeds Alan D. Huggins, who goes back to head office

Lowe’s Canada is getting a new head: Sylvain Prud’homme is to be the new president. On 25 March 2013 he is due to replace Alan D. Huggins, who is returning to head office in the USA as vice president of international operations. Prud’homme is moving from Loblaw, the biggest Canadian food retailing group, where he was executive vice president with responsibility for a number of different areas. At Lowe’s he will report to William D. Robinson, who is in charge of the international activities of the world’s second-largest home improvement and DIY retailer. Having expanded into Canada in 2007, Lowe’s now has 34 DIY stores in that country.
