Home Depot started the new year in Mexico with a round figure: the global market leader from the United States now has 100 DIY stores in operation in this country on the other side of its southern border. Mid-December saw the opening of the latest new store in San Pedro Garza Garcia in the state of Nuevo León. Nine out of the total of eleven new outlets opened by Home Depot in 2012 were located in Mexico. According to data provided by the company, it has seen annual growth of 34 per cent on average since entering the Mexican market in 2001.
