Homebase losses at year’s end

Sales recorded by the British DIY chain 4.5 per cent down since September

Homebase, the British DIY chain, had sales losses of 4.5 per cent in the four months from 2 September 2012 to 5 January 2013 in comparison with the same period one year previously. The chain, which is part of the Home Retail Group, recorded sales of £ 453 mio altogether during this period. Like-for-like sales fell by 3.9 per cent. The network of stores now comes to 337, following three closures since September.
