DIY and garden will be the sectors with the highest rates of growth in the British retail scene in 2013, with sales up by 3.3 per cent. This forecast comes from Verdict, a British market research company, and SAS, a business analytics software provider. They emphasise two points in particular: the garden market will be revitalized after the disastrous weather patterns that were dominant in 2012 and, on the other hand, home-owners will be tackling makeover projects, especially minor ones, if they want to sell their houses. According to the forecast, overall retail sales in Britain are expected to grow by 1.8 per cent to a volume of £ 300.7 bn.
