In 2012 the Swiss Migros Group achieved retail sales to the amount of CHF 21.346 bn (€ 17.09 bn), which comes to 1.4 per cent more than the previous year in absolute terms (plus 2.3 per cent inflation-adjusted). Consumer prices in their entirety fell by 0.9 per cent in Switzerland last year. Sales of CHF 1.37 bn (€ 1.1 bn; a plus of 1.8 per cent) were achieved by the cooperative’s specialist stores (Micasa, SportXX, Melectronics, Do it + Garden and Obi). Consumer prices fell by as much as 4.6 per cent in this area. As a result, the Migros specialist stores succeeded in expanding by 6.4 per cent on the previous year in real terms. The average customer transaction in the specialist stores fell by 0.3 per cent to a figure of just on CHF 55 (€ 44.05) in 2012.
