Slight growth for Hornbach

Increase in third quarter down to international stores

The DIY stores belonging to the German Hornbach Group report that sales from September to November, that is in the third quarter of the group’s financial year, were 0.6 per cent higher than in the same period last year. This growth came solely from abroad, where the company achieved a sales increase of 2.4 per cent. Sales in Germany were 0.8 per cent down. In the first nine months (March to November) Hornbach-Baumarkt AG increased its sales by 0.8 per cent to € 2.4098 bn. Sales in Germany were also up by 0.8 per cent, reaching a total of € 1.3845 bn. An increase of 0.7 per cent was the result in like-for-like terms. Expansion-driven sales abroad saw a rise of 0.7 per cent to € 1.0253 bn, but remained 2.6 per cent below last year’s level like-for-like and currency-adjusted.
