Castorama Russia is planning a second store in the city of Perm. Representatives of the company have informed the municipal authority of Europe’s second most easterly megacity of their intention to make such an investment, according to an announcement from the mayor’s office. The acquisition of a site on a main road is already nearing completion. The property is located in the immediate vicinity of the spot where Metro Cash and Carry Russia also wants to establish its second store in this city in the foothills of the Urals, according to the latest update.Castorama, a subsidiary of the British Kingfisher Group, currently operates thirteen DIY stores in Russia. The company’s first outlet in Perm, a store with a sales area of 11 000 m², was opened in 2010, also close to a Metro facility.
