Clas Ohlson, a Swedish retail group, recorded volume sales of SEK 3.076 bn in the first six months of its financial year (May to October), which represents an increase of five per cent on the comparable period last year. Growth in October amounted to six per cent. Sales grew most strongly in Finland (32 per cent in national currency), where there are admittedly ten more stores than a year ago. This contrasts with the United Kingdom, where sales were four per cent down (in local currency); here Clas Ohlson currently has 21 stores, one fewer than last year.
