German retailers happy to go abroad

The German DIY retailers now have 846 DIY stores in operation beyond Germany. That amounts to 53 more outlets compared with December 2011. The Baywa cooperative (AFS/RWA) alone gained more than 20 stores through conversions or extensions.Altogether there are 13 German DIY retailers actively involved in 27 countries. Bauhaus has a presence in the greatest number of countries, 14 in all. Obi has the greatest number of international stores, totalling 239 in twelve countries.
