Introduction of the concepts designed by Bricor and Bricoking City at Eurobrico

The DIY sector’s concepts for small-format stores in Spain were among the topics discussed at the Eurobrico trade fair in Valencia, Spain. Pablo de la Torre, the new managing director of Bricor, introduced the new concept for the DIY distribution channel of the El Corte Inglés department store group. It envisages a sales area of 1 300 m² to 3 000 m² per outlet. The stores are to be integrated into existing shopping centres belonging to the group in the environs of the country’s most important cities. The chain intends to open one store per month over the next two years. The Bricoking franchise group also reported on its small-format concept, Bricoking City. The first outlet opened in October 2011, with the second following in February 2012. Two more stores should be added by the end of this year. Since June Enrique F. Coco has been responsible for the expansion of the format.
