The DIY stores of the French DIY retail group Mr. Bricolage achieved sales in the amount of € 1.047 bn in the first six months of 2012. However, with sales of just € 752.9 mio Mr. Bricolage, the group’s main distribution channel, did not achieve any growth on last year’s comparable figures. Sales of the Les Briconautes outlets saw growth of 0.7 per cent to € 124.0 mio, while the L’Entrepôt du Bricolage store recorded € 3.5 mio. The group’s affiliated stores, which use none of these banners, have announced an increase of 1.5 per cent to € 166.4 mio. Of the 838 stores existing at the end of the period under consideration, 67 are abroad. These remain 7.0 per cent below last year’s result, even though they increased their sales by 2.4 per cent to € 97.4 mio. Mr. Bricolage opened seven new stores outside France: besides the company’s entry into the market of Macedonia there were three new openings in Belgium and one each in Bulgaria, Morocco and Madagascar.
