The French DIY retail chain Leroy Merlin has continued its expansion in Spain with two openings in September. Last week a new store of 8 907 m² was opened in Valladolid as the replacement for an outlet that will remain open until December. The 55th Spanish Leroy Merlin was launched this week in Orihuela (Alicante). The chain, which belongs to Groupe Adeo, has invested € 24 mio in this store of 7 700 m². The 130 job vacancies attracted 11 000 applications. The new store has been constructed in accordance with sustainability criteria. In 2007 the company introduced its “Tiendra Verde” (“Green Retailing”) project.
