Kingfisher intends to test a new small-format concept in Shanghai

Kingfisher plans to launch a new small-format B&Q in China. The British DIY group has already acquired the site for a pilot store in Shanghai. The outlet is expected to have about one-third of the sales area of a traditional B&Q store. The format will target customers who want to style their homes following the do-it-for-me principle, which involves purchasing the materials yourself, then having the work done by tradesmen. The opening is scheduled for some time around February 2013.
