DIY and greenery in shopping centres

The majority of shopping centres in Austria, Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary also feature a number of tenants from the DIY sector. This is revealed by the Shopping Centre Report 2012 from the Institute for Commercial Centres. In the 182 shopping centres in Austria, 167 units are allocated to tenants from the product areas specific to DIY stores. This breaks down into 66 rental units related to the area of flowers and plants, while 54 are specialist pet stores.There are perceptibly more shopping centres in Hungary. Here the total count comes to 270 locations with 277 rental units from the DIY sector. Flowers and plants account for 137 tenancies. In Slovenia there are 144 units occupied by tenants from the product areas specific to DIY stores within the total of 70 shopping centres; 49 of these rental units offer flowers and plants. The 66 shopping centres in Croatia have 42 units let to dealers from the DIY sector, with 42 of them offering flowers and plants.
