No Russian participant is to be seen among the first three in an up-to-date rating

In a ranking of the DIY retailers in Russia in 2011 no Russian company made it into the top three. This emerges from a ranking of the 100 biggest companies trading in the field of DIY and household in Russia, which was presented by the Info-Line agency at the Mosbuild 2012 trade fair. As in 2010, the top spot is again taken by Leroy Merlin, a trading channel of the French Groupe Adeo, followed by Obi, a German operator. The French Castorama chain, which belongs to the British Kingfisher Group, achieved bronze in the field of Russian DIY retailing, thus ousting the Russian Maxidom chain from the winners’ rostrum.According to the survey, the big companies in particular profited from the upturn in 2011. This resulted in the top ten together achieving a market share of 24 per cent. The top three alone, Leroy Merlin, Obi and Castorama, have a combined market share of 15 per cent.
