Energy-efficient 25th store

Bellaflora, the market leader among garden centres in Austria, has opened its 25th store. The new outlet, which has a sales area in excess of 3 500 m², is located within a retail park in Fohnsdorf, Styria. It took the Austrian market leader five months and some € 2.2 mio to erect a commercial greenhouse with a number of innovative features in terms of both technology and ecology. For instance, the LED-based interior lighting results in a reduction of the annual power consumption by 60 000 kWh or around 80 per cent of the annual figure compared with a traditional system. In addition, the heating system functions through a combination of air-source heat pump and long-distance heating.
