The DIY chain Wickes, number three in the British DIY market, recorded sales in the recently completed financial year that were 4.3 per cent down on 2010. Like-for-like sales were down by 1.4 per cent. The group’s number of stores saw an increase of 20 to 221. The combined retail division of parent company Travis Perkins, which also includes the Tile Giant and Toolstation sales channels, notched up a sales increase of 1.5 per cent to £ 1.0178 bn.
