In the last four months of 2011 the 342 stores of Homebase, a British DIY chain, recorded a turnover of around £ 474 mio, or 2.5 per cent less than the same period one year previously. The like-for-like figure is 2.6 per cent down. In particular, sales in the area of high-value tickets have gone down. The Home Retail Group, parent company of Homebase, announces that it is discontinuing its trial of the new HomeStore & More format. The four outlets in this housewares and home furnishing channel are to be closed down at the end of February.
