Wickes only nominally in the black

The British DIY chain Wickes, which belongs to the Travis Perkins group of companies, reported sales in the first eleven months of its financial year (to 26 November 2011) 0.6 per cent up on the same period last year. Sales were 1.6 per cent down in like-for-like terms. Sales were 6.8 per cent below last year’s comparable figure in the eight weeks leading up to the reference date.
