From Toomaxx to Eurobuy

Following the departure of Toom Baumarkt (Rewe Group, Germany) on 31 December 2011, the international purchasing cooperative Toomaxx is changing its name to Eurobuy. This company, comprising Baumax of Austria, Coop Bau + Hobby of Switzerland and the Finnish Rautakesko Group, will cooperate on international procurement projects, the pooling of ranges and the invitation of bids for common products. The headquarters will remain in Cologne, albeit at a new address. “Both proximity to the suppliers and closeness to the German market are a crucial advantage for us,” says CEO Peter Gardeler. Imports from the Far East will continue to be handled via the Eurogroup in Hong Kong, with which Toom continues to collaborate.
