The French Groupe Adeo has opened its first DIY store in Romania. The store, which operates under the Leroy Merlin banner, is located in the Colosseum retail centre in the north of the capital Bucharest. “We don’t need to alter our strategy, since we base our planning on a strategy that integrates the crisis. Because we are the only brand to have opened in this market since the crisis, which is an advantage to my way of thinking,” Philippe Hauville, managing director of Leroy Merlin in Romania, told the newspaper Bucares Hebdo. According to this report, the new DIY store boasts a retail area of 16 500 m², which makes it the biggest in this retail format, which now operates in twelve different countries.
