Following the initial store opening, the new Australian competitor has another 20 under construction

Currently the new Australian DIY retailer, Masters, has 20 stores under construction. The company, a joint venture between Lowe’s, an American DIY and home improvement retailer, and the Woolworths supermarket chain, opened its first store in Braybrook, Melbourne, on 1st September, which was earlier than expected. September or October were originally mentioned as possible dates for the opening. The new store features a product offer of some 35 000 items and employs a staff of 150. It has seven service desks and 35 call buttons for summoning an assistant. The company now says that it will be opening four outlets in October and November, with two more to follow in December and January.
