Bosch growth in the garden

The company’s sales of electric garden tools were 2.4 per cent up

The garden tools division of Bosch increased its sales by 2.4 per cent last year to some € 223 mio. They remained at the previous year’s level after adjustment for exchange rates. The company achieved no growth in Western Europe, its core market. This contrasts with an increase of six per cent recorded in Eastern Europe. Bosch garden sales in Asia experienced a rise of 38 per cent, and of 17 per cent in the Middle East and Africa. The division achieves more than 90 per cent of its sales in Europe. Bosch recorded sales up by 4.6 per cent year-on-year in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Today Bosch accounts for a 24 per cent share of the market for electric powered garden tools throughout Europe as a whole. The figure for Germany and the DACH region comes to 21 per cent. Consequently, since 2009 the company has regarded itself as the market leader. Its market share in the DIY stores has gone up to 30 per cent.
