Gamm Vert, a French garden centre group, has converted the first three stores to a new concept. This is based on four major areas: garden (around half of total sales), pet food, clothing and region. The makeover involved improvements to the store layout, colour-coding system and shelving fixtures in collaboration with the W & Cie agency. The garden centres present themselves under the claim “Le gout du jardin” (“The taste of the garden”). Gamm Vert has 895 garden centres at present, 880 of which are currently operated by some 100 franchisees.
