Belgian consumers mainly buy garden products in garden centres. In a survey carried out by Comeos, a trade federation, 78 per cent of respondents mentioned them as their shopping venue, though not exclusively: half of them go to a DIY store for such items, while 37 per cent get what they need in garden nurseries. The survey also revealed that 51 per cent purchase garden products only once a year, while 41 per cent do so once a month. On average one-quarter of consumers spend up to € 200 on garden items each year, though for 37 per cent their garden is worth an annual spend of € 200 - € 500.
