In the first quarter of the current financial year (to 28 May) the British DIY chain Homebase reports sales of £ 458 mio, almost exactly the same (-0.1 per cent) as last year. Sales rose in like-for-like terms by 1.6 per cent as the result of relinquishing some floorspace. After one new opening the chain, which is part of the Home Retail Group, now has a portfolio of 342 stores.
