The trend is upward

Information from the FEP (Federation of the European Parquet Industry) points to a positive trend and growth of both production and sales volumes. Overall production in the FEP sphere rose to a volume of 70.3 mio m², and sales by 6.81 per cent to more than 92 mio m². Poland has consolidated its leading position in absolute production figures by country with a share of 17.71 per cent. Germany remains in second place at 15.64 per cent and Sweden is third at 13.30 per cent. Oak was the most popular type of timber in 2010, accounting for 65.2 per cent. Tropical timber lost more ground and now stands at 7.5 per cent. Ash and beech are again on the up at 6.8 and 6.3 per cent respectively. The FEP is expecting the upswing to continue in the year 2011.
