Jonathan Swift has relinquished his position as general secretary of the International Federation of Hardware & Housewares Associations, or International Hardware Association (IHA) in short. A farewell ceremony was held for him at the IHA congress, which took place during the National Hardware Show in Las Vegas, USA. Mr Swift had occupied the position for 16 years. He was also CEO of the British Hardware Association from 1985 to 2005, before concentrating solely on the IHA. His successor is Bill Lee, CEO of the North American Hardware Association, which is based in Indianapolis, USA. The IHA, which was founded over 100 years ago, comprises the associations of independent hardware dealers from Australia, China, Finland, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, Pakistan, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the USA and Canada.
