In the first quarter (to 1 May 2011) of the company’s current fiscal year, Home Depot recorded sales of US $ 16.823 bn, or 0.2 per cent less than the same period last year. In like-for-like terms, sales as a whole/in the aggregate were 0.6 per cent down, and 0.7 per cent down in the USA. On the other hand, the net result saw an improvement of twelve per cent to US $ 812 mio. The global market leader in DIY retailing, with its total of 2 235 outlets, is sticking to its sales forecast of a 2.5 per cent increase for the fiscal year as a whole.
