The most recent issue of the trade magazine DIY International offers a comprehensive report on the markets of the countries of Eastern Europe. For instance, the east European expert André Adamski gets a chance to speak, and there are facts and figures on Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and Poland. There is an introduction to Ambient, the local DIY chain in Romania, and to the Praktis DIY stores in Bulgaria as well. The lead article in this issue is an extensive interview with Kingfisher CEO Ian Cheshire on the orientation of the European market leader; one of the key topics here is the standardisation of the group’s own-brand strategy between the different trading formats. The magazine is published by Dähne Verlag of Ettlingen, Germany. In parallel to this print version, complementary or additional information on some of the articles is also available in the Plus section of DIYglobal.
