Gamm Vert, a French garden centre group, increased sales in the first quarter of 2011 by 15 per cent on the same period last year. It expects a plus of around ten per cent for the year as a whole. The online edition of the Franchise Magazine reports that sales rose by 2.3 per cent to € 880 mio last year. Apparently the company, which belongs to the In Vivo cooperative organisation operating in the agricultural sector, has already opened 16 new franchise stores this year and undertaken eleven extensions. Currently the total number of outlets amounts to 895. The intention is to increase this to 1 300 garden centres.
