The Finnish Kesko Group is notching up high growth rates in the sales of its east European branches and subsidiaries. For instance, Stroymaster Russia increased sales in the first quarter compared with the same period last year by 23.8 per cent to € 43 mio. In Belarus Oma, a DIY retail chain, recorded total sales of € 19 mio, amounting to an increase of 77.8 per cent. Sales achieved by Senukai in Lithuania saw an increase of 18.8 per cent to € 44 mio. By contrast, the growth achieved by the Rautakesko branches in Estonia (€ ten mio) and Latvia (€ eight mio) amounted to no more than 3.2 per cent and 3.1 per cent respectively.
