Rona opens Réno Dépôt store constructed in compliance with environmental standards

Rona has now opened the first of its two advertised Réno Dépôt stores built in compliance with the LEED standard (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) for new buildings. The Canadian company has invested nearly C $ 25 mio in this store, which covers a retail area of around 9 500 m², of which a 2 300 m² share is taken up by a garden centre. Some of the criteria for the LEED standard are the use of low-emission VOC (volatile organic compounds) materials such as paint and adhesives, energy saving measures, solar installations, extra external insulation, lighting-control systems and low-flow sanitation facilities.
